HISTORY EXPERT / ADVENTURER / TV PERSONALITY

It all started with motorbikes...

Carl has had a life long fascination with fast machines, first with motor bikes and then later with cars.

"Growing up, the roar of my father's Triumph 6T Thunderbird reverberated through my childhood, painting the air with a metallic orange blaze that ignited my passion for motorbikes. Witnessing him restore it, transforming it into a wild flame of craftmanship, left an indelible mark of my soul."

Then there were cars

"My initiation into the world of motorcycling began with a Triumph Tiger Club; despite its unreliability, its quirks only deepened my affection. Yet, it was my Father's benevolent gesture, swapping his machine for for a Honda CB175, that truly solidified by devotion. With it's electric start and advanced features, it was a marvel compared to my old companion.

For years, my trusty motorbike became more than just a mode of transport - it was an extension of myself. Riding through the rain and the snow and occasional sunshine, my Suzuki 500GT became my steadfast companion, carrying me through work and play alike. Its speed was exhilarating, even if its handling left much to be desired.

But as my life unfolded, so did my path. The allure of a warm, dry car beckoned, and on a fateful first date. my brother's 1978 Corvette offered an irresistible invitation to the world of four wheels. It was a brief farewell to my biking days, as the allure of comfort and luxury paved the way to new adventures.

However, in the space of only five years, the pull to get back on two wheels was too strong to ignore. I bought a Harley Davidson Sportster, loved it until I say the most beautiful machine I had ever laid eyes on, the magnificent Ducati 916SP, and I had to have one. That then created a crazy desire to buy all the bikes I dreamed of as a young teenager."
